There are plenty of car rental firms out there and, for UK guests, it is cheaper to book a car through a UK agent and take a pre-paid voucher with you. CarHire3000 usually comes in with competitive rates but do compare with other companies on the internet.

Often the tour operators have much higher insurance packages than required. If you book a fly-drive you are not obliged to have the car also, so do compare prices.
Occasionally, when you arrive at the airport, the car hire staff will try and sell you more insurance, (some will even try to convince you that you don't have the legal requirements) but everything you need is included in the price with your voucher so you are not required to purchase additional insurance.
Public transport in Orlando is pretty limited and a car works out much cheaper than taxi's and shuttles. Driving is extremely easy, the roads are very safe and the drive from the airport is simple. No worries at all and we would recommend a car every time.
